tram face avy

By ccrossen | March 1, 2010

Some crazy video of the Tram Face slide yesterday, shot by Rob McCormick. After all the slides we had this past week, not a huge surprise… We’re still seeing deep slab instability all over the place, two feet of snow on top of a hard layer (Feb 19th) and no good bonds. A lot of people rubbing their heads at Squaw, I am sure. Freeride Tour was postponed and moved to Silverado for today. See Grant Kaye’s photos and write-up.

Snow in the near future: system enters the region tomorrow afternoon into Wednesday, with two rounds of precip expected. First, warmer shot should drop about 6-10 inches up high, second should be colder and drop about the same, so more pow in store this week, and it should be lighter than the cement we received the past two storms. BTW, Mammoth and the East Side got hammered last week, 60″+.How about those giant inflatable beavers?
