It’s been a great summer already, primarily filled with surfing so far. I’ve been out of town and on the road, hitting spots in Mexico, Costa Rica, California, and Jersey. Lucking into great swell and waves - some of the best waves of my life in C Rica as the south swells just have been hammering all season long - and some great body surfing and pizza in NJ, despite the aggro lifeguards. Now we’re into the amazing Tahoe summer, beautiful here right now, perfect weather as usual. The fly fishing has just started to get really, really good with the caddis starting up. The trails are in great shape, though a little loose and dusty, with the upper realms a little better, as there’s still a lot of snow way up high. The lakes have warmed up and swimming and SUPing are a blast. Just bought a new SUP and am looking forward to exploring a little more of the water up here. I ended up hurting a couple of fingers in C Rica, so climbing has been out, but hopefully they’ll heal up soon and climbing will begin as well. I also need to hit up the recently launched Red Truck. I am not sure when I am going to get to everything on the list, but here’s to trying.
I spent much of the past six weeks surfing and testing out a lot of related gear, so look for gear reviews coming out every few days or so.
