…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 4 PM PST
SATURDAY…


THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 4
PM PST SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.



* TIMING: SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE TAHOE BASIN FRIDAY MORNING WITH
PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MIDDAY SATURDAY.


* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 15 TO 30 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET, WITH 8 TO
16 INCHES AT LAKE LEVEL.


* WINDS: SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH. SIERRA
RIDGE GUSTS UP TO 110 MPH.


* SNOW LEVELS: BELOW LAKE LEVEL.


* IMPACTS: VERY POOR VISIBILITY WITH WHITEOUT CONDITIONS LIKELY
ESPECIALLY OVER THE PASSES. DANGEROUS CONDITIONS FOR BACK
COUNTRY ACTIVITIES AND TRAVEL ON HIGHWAYS 50, 88, 89, 207, 267,
THE MT ROSE HIGHWAY AND INTERSTATE 80.
